Requirements to Become an NSA Police Officer

Education requirements, as defined by the NSA, for applying to the NSA Police are: A high school diploma or GED, two years of higher education (an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice is a popular two-year degree to meet this requirement) OR honorable active military duty experience, OR two years of progressively responsible work experience where you have demonstrated the ability to learn and apply detailed and complex regulations and procedures.

The minimum qualification requirements to join the NSA Police are: be a US Citizen, at least 21 years old, pass a federal background investigation, be in excellent physical condition, have uncorrected visual acuity of 20/125, corrected to 20/20, as measured with both eyes viewing and have a valid state driver's license.

NSA Police Job Description and Responsibilities

As an NSA Police Officer you will be a uniformed officer and carry a firearm. You will provide security, force protection, and law enforcement functions at facilities secured by the NSA. NSA Police Officer responsibilities include, and are not limited to counterterrorism, assets protection and enforcement of laws relative to the protection of NSA assets, firearms training and patrol of NSA facilities and properties.

NSA Police Officer Salary

NSA Police Officers are hired on at an annual salary of $44,729. At the present time all new recruits earn a $3,000 milestone recruitment bonus. NSA Police also have performance ranked appraisals and are eligible for salary promotions. NSA Police also become eligible to post for career advancement into specialized units including, SWAT, Chemical and Biological Rapid Response Team, Firearms Instructors as well as other units.
