Accounting Jobs in the Criminal Justice Field

The first step to becoming an accountant is to earn a degree in accounting. There are many associate (2-year) and bachelor (4-year) accounting degree programs to choose from. Federal agencies such as the FBI, IRS, and Treasurey require a 4-year degree. Also, to become a CPA you must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or business (if you choose a business degree, make sure to take many accounting based courses).

In reality, accountants play a significant role in solving and preventing crimes in all fields of law enforcement and criminal justice. The FBI, IRS/Treasury Department hire accountants.
