Becoming eligible for an Special Agent FBI Accountant job requires that applicants be a certified public accountant (CPA) or possess a bachelor's degree in accounting with at least two years of work experience in a private firm or the public sector. At least a year of this work should be in a management or team leader position. In order to qualify for the accounting special entry program you may also need to meet the physical ability requirements and pass a very intensive background check.

An FBI accountant working in-house performs general accounting work such as auditing, analyzing and verifying fiscal records, preparing financial and statistical reports, prepares audit reports and schedules and other related duties. To qualify for an FBI accountant job, you should earn a bachelor's degree in accounting or in a related business field and take 24 semester hours in accounting courses.
