Choosing the Right Paralegal Program

The state of Kentucky does not have any specific regulations when it comes to becoming a paralegal. However, the Kentucky Paralegal Association is currently working to develop a statewide "voluntary" certification exam and study guide. When completed, paralegals in Kentucky will have the option to obtain voluntary paralegal certification through the Kentucky Paralegal Association.

Though it is not required by the state that the paralegal program you choose have any of these approvals or accreditations, it might help ensure that the education and training you receive is of the highest standards.

Before you choose a program, it is important to take a look at the additional services the schools and programs offer to you as a student. Many schools offer things such as career counseling, internship placement, financial aid packages, job placement services, or academic counseling. Also take a look at the curriculum, faculty members, and reputation of the program in the legal community.

All of the schools listed on this site are accredited and each has their own unique services available to students. You will find programs of all levels including certificates, associate's, bachelor's, as well as advanced degrees in different areas of legal studies.
